Quickstart building a web application (Web/Mobile)

Lesson 8: Create a Media Select View

The Media Zoom View we created doesn’t work without a Media Select View. In this lesson we will create the Media Select View using the wizard.

  1. Click Create New… and select the Mobile Select Wizard.

  2. The first two pages of the wizard give some information.
  3. On the third page enter the object name: oSelectMedia
  4. Enter the file name: SelectMedia
  5. Change the description: Media.

  6. On the next page select Media as the main table.

  7. On the next page we can select Media Fields as well as Person fields. Select the following Media Fields:
    - Title
    - Author
  8. Enter the following Person Fields:
    - LastName
    - FirstName

  9. On the next page select the Main Zoom navigation option, after all, we only want to zoom in to our Media Zoom View.
  10. Select ZoomMedia as the Zoom View.

  11. On the next page select the checkbox from Author and LastName. So they will be placed on a new line. 
  12. Set the Span from Title and Author to 2 columns.
  13. Change the Style from Title to Caption, and from LastName and FirstName to Detail. <

  14. Finish the wizard.
  15. The Select Media Zoom View is created. Preview it in the Designer by pressing F7.
  16. Run the application by clicking the run button or pressing F5.
  17. Login with Admin, Admin.
  18. Go to Menu, View, Media. An empty list is shown, because we didn’t enter any Media data yet.
  19. Click the Add button to create a record, enter the following data:
    - Select the person: John Tuohy
    - Title: Champions
    - Author: Queen
    - Type: Audio file
    - Date purchased: 13-07-2017
    - Price: €20,00

  20. Save the record.
  21. Now it shows up in the list.

  22. This finishes this lesson.
